Along with the global cooperative family, Nepal was also shocked to hear the news of Mr. Barberini's untimely death on May 6, 2009.

National cooperative Federation of Nepal (NCF/N) organized a condolence meeting here in Kathmandu on 15th May, 2009 to offer the respect to the departed soul of late Ivano Barberini, President, International Cooperative Alliance (ICA).

In the Condolence Meeting, hundreds of cooperators and other dignitaries of the government and non government organization offered the bunch of flower to the picture of late Barberini as per the Nepalese culture.

On that occasion, one-minute silence was observed and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.

Further, NCF/N on behalf of the Nepalese Cooperative Movement has delivered the condolence message to ICA head office, Geneva and the family of late Barberini in Italy.
